Papyrus were purchased from Egypt and framed in Adelaide.
2 x Amazing Hand Painted Egyptian Papyrus laid out on black backing with black border and Chunky Gold Frame. Overall Size 1170mm x 860mm
$300 for both.
Papyrus 1 portrays King Tut and his Bride Ankhesenamon sailing down the nile on their honeymoon. The Lotus flower is prominent – the ancient symbol of love. Their royal cartouches are shown at the top of the scene.
Papyrus 2 portrays Goddess Hathor and Isis; Gods Set and Horus. The scene on the left is depicting Pharaoh Ramesses III making an offering to the goddess Hathor. The middle scene shows the Gods Set and Horus adoring Pharaoh Ramesses II. The scene on the right shows Queen Nefertiti making an offering of a sistrum and lotus flowers to the Goddess Isis. This scene is from a painting in Queen Nefertiti’s tomb.
